Closomat‘s white paper, entitled ‘Provision of Accessible Toilets for the Hotel Industry’ could be vital for hoteliers, with many establishments said to be failing in their access provision under British Standards.
With greater scrutiny then ever to ensure that hotels offer suitable access for disabled people, it has also emerged that making a mere one bedroom accessible opens up the possibility of an increase of 20% in overnight trips.
The white paper offers a simple reference for venues with overnight stay to achieve compliance. It clarifies requirements under the latest Building Regulations, plus the Equality Act and BS8300:2009, to ensure visitors with any disability have access to appropriate toilets, both in public areas and bedrooms.
