Danish science centre receives Troldtekt acoustic solution

  • 5 Feb 2018

Newly opened Danish science centre ‘Experimentarium’ has seen Troldtekt ceiling panels installed, which will provide a high-performance sound absorbing surface.

The building, designed by CEBRA architects, will benefit from these panels, as they contrast considerably with the copper, aluminium and glass elements, whilst also complementing the interior atmosphere.

The centre offers families, school children and science lovers a plethora of fascinating science exhibitions, where there is the opportunity to touch, play and experience science in an completely innovative way.

A quality acoustic solution was required due to the hard surfaces used throughout, together with the noise from thousands of visitors every day.

Extended above the original red brick walls of the old brewery, the Experimentarium consists of several new floors, clad in perforated aluminium enclosing amazing spaces and atriums accessed by Helix shaped stairways.

Designed like a theatre, there are large areas backstage which house staff facilities, workshops, creative rooms and offices.

Used across the UK and Europe, Troldtekt natural wood wool panels possess many benefits; high sound absorption, reliable durability, natural breathability, inexpensive life cycle performance and sustainability.

They can be found in projects such as schools, leisure centres, pools, commercial, private and public buildings and comes in a range of sizes and grades, from extreme fine to coarse.
