Traditional Construction Vs. Modular Construction

The building method is probably vaguely understood too. Foundations are dug, utilities added, and then the building can begin. Starting from the ground up, when the exterior is complete, the interior needs finishing.

It takes time to build and finish a project when using traditional building methods. But there is another way: modular construction.

What is Modular Construction?

It is a way of building that differs from traditional methods in many ways, the main one being where the building starts to take shape.

Unlike a traditional, messy and busy construction site, the structure and fabric of the building are created in a modern, spacious and specialised ‘factory’ type setting.

Once complete, the building is transported to site where it is effortlessly craned into position onto its foundations. In terms of utilities, it is a case of plugging it in.

Turnkey Solutions

Turnkey solutions are increasingly common, more so with a modular build. The client specifies what they need in the building from utilities to special requirements, such as forensically ‘sealed’ laboratories to clinics, wards, operating theatres, scanning rooms, X-ray clinics and more.

The client receives all this at the turn of a key but there are other benefits when comparing modular construction vs. traditional construction.

Why opt for Modular Construction?

With so many benefits to this modern method of building, it’s hard to know where to start.

Maybe it is the sustainable and green credentials of modular building that make it such as popular choice. Or maybe, it is the versatility and flexibility of not just the building process, but the finished result that makes healthcare providers turn to MTX Contracts again and again.

Or maybe it is the fact that you get so much more for less: less time spent completing the project, great quality, less strain on the budget and less stress of a busy construction site to manage safely whilst still managing the day-to-day management of your business or service.
