Crown Paints has been working hard recently to provide a new colour identity for care homes across the UK, as part of Akari Care’s refurbishment programme for their properties nationwide.
Residential care home provider, Akari Care, enlisted the help of the Crown to create continuity throughout the properties across the UK and find the best paints for the environment.
Working alongside Renray Healthcare – a leading furniture supplier to the healthcare sector – Crown Paints and Akari Care have created six new colour schemes encompassing wall colour, wallpaper, carpets, curtains, bedding and upholstery.
Crown was conscious of the environment and those who would be spending time there and subsequently tailored the colour schemes to suit a dementia-friendly space. The paints were also chosen specifically for their durability, with Crown Trade Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Scrubbable Matt the ideal solution for the corridor, lounge, bedroom and bathroom areas and Crown Trade Vinyl Matt emulsion for the ceilings.
Other products chosen include Crown Trade Clean Extreme Antibacterial Durable Acrylic Eggshell for the kitchens and the Crown Trade Fastflow Gloss System and Crown Trade Full Gloss for all of the trims within the care homes.
Greg Robinson, Estates Manager at Akari Care, comments: “The Crown Paints Specification Team came out and identified areas we needed to focus on, including mould, ventilation and how we could extend our maintenance cycle. Together we have created a generic specification of products and colours to ensure we have brand continuity throughout our properties and paints that are the most suited for each specific environment.”
