Fulfilling CPD Requirements – Delta Structural Waterproofing

  • 22 Sep 2021

As in most professions, doing continuing professional development (CPD) is obligatory, especially for RIBA for Members. Doing CPDs helps you to stay competent, efficient, and flexible in your approach as an architect, Specifier or Designer. Delta are dedicated to supporting Continual Professional Development within the waterproofing sector.

The Delta Technical Team constantly review and update CPD presentations to ensure they comply with industry standards, performance, sustainability, installation, whilst applying appropriate design philosophies – all key in achieving a durable watertight structure.

So, when Delta present to you, rest assured, the guidance will help you follow, understand, and maintain the latest industry regulations and give you a unique inside industry approach.

Our new Waterproofing Existing Basements and Podium Deck and Buried Roof Waterproofing CPD Seminars will cover everything you and your employees need to know to stay ahead of the game when specifying structural waterproofing solutions.

With evermore challenging environments, in particular the protection of buildings against water and moisture ingress:

Waterproofing Existing Basements

The aim of this CPD presentation is to provide a technical insight into structural waterproofing existing basements and cellars. Touching on client requirements when designing and specifying waterproofing systems whilst developing an understanding of the levels of protection which can be achieved, along with the features, benefits, and options available for a robust solution.

Delta’s presentations focus on creating a solution which meets British Standard 8102:2009. This is the code of practice for the waterproofing industry and ensuring designs conform as a minimum.

Topics will include how various levels of protection are achieved, as well explanations as why some waterproofing systems fail, and what can be done to remedy failed systems whilst remaining compliant with standards.

Waterproofing Podium Decks and Buried Roofs

There are many common pitfalls when it comes to designing a waterproofing system for podium decks, buried roofs, balconies, and terraces.

These complex constructions require an in-depth knowledge of construction along with structural waterproofing. From differential movement to drainage, both should be key considerations as part of the building design process.

The aim is to provide Architects/Designers and Specifiers with a technical approach to the concepts of successful design.

Delta follows RIBA’s CPD Providers Network Quality Code and offer CPD seminars within curriculum categories:

 – Waterproofing
 – Flood Resilience
 – Podium Deck and Buried Roof Waterproofing
 – Existing Basements Waterproofing
 – Reducing Risk in Type C Systems using Predictive Maintenance
