New document offers guidance on the refurbishment of internal metal gutters

  • 10 Mar 2015

The Metal Gutter Manufacturers Association (MGMA) has released its new document to advise on the refurbishment of internal metal gutters

Internal gutters are commonly manufactured from galvanised steel and secured with bolted joints.

As these gutters age, corrosion of the gutter steel substrate can occur.

The bolted gutter joints can also begin to leak and cause problems.

MGMA has developed its guidance document, ‘Refurbishment of Internal Metal Gutters’, to educate installers and customers on the methods that can be used to repair damaged gutters.

The document examines the advantages and disadvantages of both liquid applied methods and membrane methods of repair.

Within the document, MGMA stress that it is important to understand the methods of refurbishment and repair before specifying a solution.

Simply opting for the cheapest solution could cause further problems for both the installer and the customer.
