Though wood pellets can be bought in bags (typically around 10 to 15kg), if space is available, a bulk store can be installed which can directly feed (by auger or vacuum system) the intermediate Grant pellet hopper supplied as standard with the boiler.
This allows homeowners to buy pellets in bulk, which is more cost effective.
The 500kg and 750kg models come ready assembled and are available in a powder coated finish. The 1.5 6 tonne sizes are supplied flat packed with quick seal joints for on-site construction.
The EN Plus Grade A1 wood pellets approved for use with the Grant Spira are classed as a carbon neutral source of fuel, as they are made from either sawdust (a waste product in sawmill industries) or sourced from a managed forest (where trees are planted to replace those cut down).
