FirePro SoftSeal from ROCKWOOL is a flexible, firestopping solution particularly suited to service penetrations and linear joints, where a high degree of movement needs to be accommodated.
Comprising a 80Kg density stonewool 80kg, SoftSeal is supplied to site pre-coated with a specially formulated SoftSeal Flexible Coating, which is also available in 5l tubs for making good on site and coating of the adjacent substrate.
Comprehensively tested the system offers two types of ablative coated strips:

Matt Bromley, Product Manager at ROCKWOOL:The SoftSeal system is both very easy to handle and install, and has been developed specifically in response to market demand. Not only does SoftSeal offer exceptional fire performance, of up to 2 hours, and impressive flexibility as a firestopping solution for buildings that need to accommodate movement, but it has the added advantage of being supplied pre-coated making installation quick and easy.
SoftSeal Linear Joint Seal has been tested to the dedicated fire resistance standard BS EN 1366-3 with the SoftSeal Coated Strips being tested to BS EN1366-4, both are and classified to EN 13501-2.
ROCKWOOL’s SoftSeal System can be installed into service penetrations as a stand-alone seal for openings up to 1000mm x 1000mm, or, alternatively, as part of a larger Ablative Coated Batt seal of 2 layers to accommodate movement of services.
As a Liner Joint Seal, SoftSeal is suitable for linear joint widths of up to 300mm.
Made from naturally fire resistant stone wool, ROCKWOOL delivers impressive non-combustible properties and superior fire resistance.
Created using the same processes that occur at the heart of a volcano, ROCKWOOL tolerates temperatures of up to 1000°C. Put simply, rock won’t burn.
Further proof of this is shown by ROCKWOOL stone wool insulation achieving the highest Euroclass standard, an A1 rating.
SoftSeal is supported by ROCKWOOL’s Technical Solutions team, who are able to provide detailed advice on the full scope of its fire performance and ensure optimum value engineering for all projects.
