Tinytags are used in the monitoring of temperature, relative humidity and other parameters of buildings, and are helping Martin Environmental Services to make recommendations and assess equipment performance.
The data loggers are used to help the company to understand client issues, providing data to help form recommendations about equipment to be installed, or for validation of installed equipment for the client to assess its performance.
As an example, if clients feel conditions are too hot or cold, the data loggers can provide an accurate record of conditions over time for further analysis and subsequent action.
Martin Environmental Services was recently contacted by the NHS, as one of its buildings was experiencing domestic hot water issues with major fluctuations in temperature.
It was through that the heating system was drawing from the cylinder primaries at certain times, so Tinytag loggers were used to monitor the domestic hot water flow and return temperatures against outside air temperature.
This was done to see if there was a correlation between low outside temperature (resulting in the building heating coming on) and the drop in domestic hot water temperature.
Following a seven day cycle, the data was downloaded and printed for anaylsis. The result showed the issues were not in fact due to the heating system.
Technical Director Andrew Martin commented: We have never had any issues with their operation and have found them to be robust in the environment we use. The Tinytag Explorer Software allows us to pre-program start dates and times easily. We are very happy with them.
