Steel galvanising carried out at Premier League footie club

  • 6 Nov 2014

Edward Howell carried out galvanising on 200 tonnes of lattice steelwork

The Wednesfield based company galvanised the steelwork for the facility, which covers an area of 6,000m2, as part of a £7 million development which will see a new training ground and indoor dome being constructed, alongside two indoor pitches and changing room facilities.

Improvements required under FA rules

The improvements were required under major new reclassification plans for academy football by the FA Premier League and the ground will be used by local schools and the club’s independent charity, Wolves Community Trust.

The training ground is part of a £50 million investment into the area to improve educational facilities and high-quality housing to meet local demand.

The new training pitch provides an all weather facility with a steel structure that protects against rust and corrosion and requires little maintenance throughout the duration of its lifetime.

Wedge Group Galvanizing is the largest hot-dip galvanising organisation in the UK and has 14 plants located across the country.
