Widnes Foodbank provides emergency food for those who are suffering from temporary financial crises

After assessing the entries, Stannah was impressed by the large number of people that Widnes Foodbank has helped over the years.

For this reason, it chose the charity as its winner.

Widnes Foodbank is a branch of The Trussell Trust, a national charity which supports people who are unable to feed themselves and their families.

The charity offers temporary respite to those in need, providing them with the resources required to feed them for three days.

It is run by unpaid volunteers.

Stannah’s service lift, Microlift, will be installed in the charity’s two-storey premises where it stocks over 10 metric tonne of foodstuffs.

The installation will help the volunteers to circulate the stock; as much of the storage area is upstairs, the workers have had to rely on narrow stairs to move the foodstuffs.

The Microlift will allow them to move faster and more efficiently whilst reducing the risk of carrying the heavy boxes.

Stannah will be following the installation of its service lift and continuing to offer its support to Widnes Foodbank.
