Approved Document L1A criteria can be met with Fabric First approach

Stephen Smith, Market Development Manager at Knauf Insulation Northern Europe, explains that it is ‘possible to exercise the design flexibility which has been included within ADL1A 2013 and adopt a more practical approach.’ 

The new revisions also include a new criteria, Target Fabric Energy Efficiency, that recognises the importance of a Fabric First approach to achieving Zero Carbon Homes by using dwelling dimensions and performance values.
