Stannah has supplied its comprehensive range of lifts to an expanding chain of all-day American ‘Breakfast Club’ diners originating in London.

The Microlift 100B service and Midilift SL platform lifts have most recently been installed in the Southwark Street outlet near London Bridge.Exterior shot of the Breakfast Club near London Bridge

The Midilift SL, previously installed at the chain’s Brighton outlet, allows people of all mobility levels access between the ground-floor diner and basement facilities, comprising the Call Me Mr Lucky tequila bar and toilets, kitchen, staff room, restroom and office.

Operating at a speed of 0.08m/s over a distance of 2885mm, the lift is manually operated with constant pressure controls.

The lift’s panoramic, fully glazed door provides the space with light, and the spacious 1,100m x 1,400mm platform allows for easy manoeuvrability of people and wheelchairs.

User safety is further optimised by light grey, non-slip safety flooring and an intercom system. The lift complies with all European legislation, including the Equality Act 2010.

Tim Nunn, The Breakfast Club Design & Development Manager, comments: “We have installed Stannah lifts in many of our cafes and we have found them to be very reliable.

In our London Bridge cafe it’s important that we are able to offer the experience of our basement cocktail bar ‘Call Me Mr Lucky’ to wheelchair users and others with disabilities that may affect their access”

Meanwhile, the Microlift 100B dumbwaiters assist staff by shifting food and tableware between the ground-floor diner and lower-ground kitchen and bar.

Like those previously installed at The Breakfast Clubs in Canary Wharf and Spitalfields; the food lift is finished in satin stainless steel, a hygienic surface that is both durable and easy to clean. The lift also features rise-and-fall shutters. These are designed to make loading and unloading easy, with an interlocking feature that adds security of load in transit.

The Microlift is automatically operated via robust push buttons, making the food lift easy to use, and its quietly efficient motor ensures that the lift does not intrude on its surroundings when on duty.

The Microlifts are supplied in their own structure and installed quickly and easily. Each lift complies with all European legislation, including the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC; CE marked; Health & Safety at Work Act; Manual Handling Regulations.

The Microlift 100B and Midilift SL lifts are covered by Stannah’s comprehensive lift servicing, with continued maintenance by the company’s local service branch.
