Two North Lanarkshire hospices have received £1,000 donations from CMS Window Systems as part of the company’s ‘ten donations for ten years’ anniversary initiative.
The hospices, nominated for donations by North Lanarkshire Council, provide vital services for patients receiving end of life care. North Lanarkshire Council leader Jim Logue visited St Andrew’s Hospice in Airdrie to present the first of the two cheques.
St Andrew’s Hospice provides palliative care services, as well as highly individualised medical care, therapy and spiritual and emotional support.
Strathcarron Hospice was presented the second £1,000 donation by councillor Barry McCulloch. The centre provides palliative and end-of-life care for patients in Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth.
Jean Jones, Dupute Provost of North Lanarkshire commented: “This is a very generous contribution from CMS to a much deserving cause. Strathcarron Hospice provides a vital service for people in need and this kind donation will make a big difference to their fundraising efforts.”
CMS Managing Director, Andy Kerr, added: “Strathcarron Hospice and St Andrew’s Hospice both make a very meaningful impact on the people, families and carers of North Lanarkshire, and we are delighted to provide funding to ensure they continue doing their superb work.
CMS takes its role in the community very seriously. Our market-leading sustainability and recycling policies, as well as our apprenticeship scheme to promote local employment, all demonstrate our commitment to helping our communities thrive, and we feel that our ‘ten charities for ten years’ programme for 2016 is a great way to contribute.
The last decade has seen a great deal of positive change for CMS. Since 2006, we’ve grown to be a leading window manufacturing business with a workforce of over 245 and a £35m annual turnover, and we’re keen to be responsible and give back to the communities in which we operate whenever we can.”
