At this year’s Education Estates event, Fermacell will be showcasing its damage-resistant range of partitions, which are ideal for use in the education environment.
Education Estates is scheduled to take place at Manchester Central in October. Providing a professional forum for education’s built environment, the event will comprise an exhibition, conference and awards dinner for those looking to refurbish or construct new buildings, or carry out maintenance work in the sector.
Fermacell will occupy a stand at the event; its German-engineered partitions, which are particularly suitable for installation in educational buildings, will be on display. The company will also launch its new ‘Impact Warranty’ guarantee; in the event of damage, it will supply replacement boards, or the materials required to remedy the issue
By specifying six Fermacell partitions for installation, schools can meet acoustic and fire requirements, as specified in BB100 and BB93. Due to their dense composition, the systems do not require pattressing when attaching fixtures and fixings, such as TV screens and interactive whiteboards.
The partitions were recently used in a modular classroom construction project, which was carried out by Scotts of Thrapston at Weldon Church of England Primary School.
Over 150 boards of 1,200mm x 2,400mm x 12.5mm were used to line the walls and ceilings of the replacement modular building, which accommodates a group room, storeroom, lobby and toilets, as well as classrooms.
The partitions have also been used at Aberdeen’s Ellon Academy, Harrogate High School, Redbridge and Bank View Schools in Liverpool and the University of Nottingham’s sustainable chemistry building.
Fermacell’s partitions can be downloaded in the Revit format, via bimstore
