Protan SE and Protan G membranes specified for Liverpool apartment buildings

  • 7 Oct 2016

Protan SE single ply and Protan G glass fibre membranes have been specified by Newry Construction for a number of key projects in Liverpool, to construct student and worker accommodation within the next three years.

Garry Astill Roofing has been tasked with delivering the fully formed roofs on all the buildings: including the use of 8000m2 of Protan SE1.6mm and Protan G green roof membrane.

Available in 1.2mm, 1.6mm and 1.8mm thicknesses, Protan SE single ply membrane is certified to deliver the energy efficiency standards set out in Approved Document L and achieves an A+ rating under the Green Guide.

The membrane is hot-air welded at joints and mechanically fixed to the roof, helping it achieve a durability in excess of 30 years. In addition, the product’s air leakage is controlled and minimised in line with latest Building Regulations.

Protan G membrane is a glass fibre reinforced, microbe durable PVC membrane which, like Protan SE, is fully BBA certified. Ideal for gravel ballasted roofs, inverted roofs and green roofs; the membrane can withstand high and low temperatures and attack by micro-organisms.

Protan G is loose-laid, providing a fast and safe means of creating an FLL compliant roof.
