CMS Window Systems has been presented a European Business Awards for the Environment (EBAE) award in the management category for medium and large companies.
CMS was named the winner at the EBAE awards ceremony, held at the Seaplane Harbour in Tallinn, Estonia on October 27th. The awards are handed out by the European Commission every two years, recognising European companies that bring together innovation, economic viability, environmental considerations and social equality.
CMS was the only UK-based window and door company to be nominated. Its success at the EBAE follows on from the VIBES (Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland) Awards in 2015, in which it won the ‘Management (SME)’ category.
The company impressed judges with its unique combination of products, processes and initiatives, most notably its Innovation Hub, which has been created to demonstrate some of the most advanced and sustainable building envelope products available to the UK building industry. Judges also noted the company’s numerous recycling schemes – including its latest glass reprocessing initiative with Saint-Gobain Glass – as a factor.
Andy Kerr, Managing Director at CMS, commented: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been named a winner at the EBAE Awards. Environmental and sustainability issues are central to CMS’s business strategy. As the business landscape evolves, it’s great to have the opportunity to show the European business community how sustainability is a help, not a hindrance, to success.
Our focus on environmental, economic and social sustainability has had a very positive effect on our long-term business success and our ability to service clients effectively – we hope that our EBAE Award win allows us to set an example for other businesses to follow.”
