New CPD modules from MCRMA

  • 8 May 2017

The Metal Cladding & Roofing Manufacturers Association has added two new CPD modules to its online CPD programme.

The programme is open to anyone seeking to develop their knowledge and skills within the metal building envelope sector.

The factors that need to be taken into consideration in the storage, handling and installation of mineral wool insulation in built-up metal roof and wall cladding systems, are set out in the CPD module Mineral wool insulation installation: best practice guide. The module also examines design factors and includes guidance on both roof and wall installation and standards of workmanship.

The importance of setting the deflection criteria at the design stage is explained in the CPD module Serviceability states and deflections criteria. The module also covers implementing them at the construction stage to ensure that all elements of the construction perform as expected.

The new CPDs have been accredited by the CPD Certification Service and are based on MCRMA’s downloadable guidance documents which have been drafted by industry experts from across the MCRMA membership.

Five approved CPDs are available and each module represents an anticipated 60 minutes of professional development and following the successful completion of a CPD; a certificate is available for immediate download.

MCRMA is providing online CPD courses as they provide flexibility and convenience, allowing an individual to plan their learning around their other work properties as course material is always accessible online through a log-in portal.
