Crown contributes to Enfield community

Residents in Enfield have been treated to a new bench as part of the partnership between Crown Paints, Mitie Property Services and Enfield Council.

The three have been working together for the last two years on redecoration works across Enfield Council’s property portfolio.

The community has been given a bench made from recycled paint containers to mark the milestone.

After around 4,000 litres of Crown Trade products were used on the council’s social housing schemes, the containers were recycled.

The containers were taken to Crown’s network of Crown Decorating Centres and reprocessed by a social enterprise NIMTEC at the paint manufacturer’s Lancashire headquarters – and the recycled material is then used to make street furniture such as the recycled bench.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing & Housing Regeneration, Cllr Ahmet Oykener, said: “I would like to thank Crown Paints and Mitie Property Services for the fantastic facelift that they have given to our housing blocks. The donation of the bench will also be welcomed by our residents.”
