Durapipe saves time and money on luxury hotel refurb

  • 28 Sep 2017

Durapipe UK has contributed to the refurbishment of a luxury hotel in Ethiopia’s Capital city of Addis Abada by supplying pipework.

The DAG Trading owned Nexus Hotel has undergone an eight-storey extension, to see it offer five more floors of accommodation. Therefore, a reliable pipe network was required to service the air conditioning system.

As a result, Durapipe SuperFLO ABS pipe in sizes 20mm-110mm was installed to transport chilled water fro the main water chillers in the plant room located on the roof and distribute it to the air conditioning circuit on each floor.

Durapipe SuperFLO ABS was suitable due to its performance characteristics and its quick and easy jointing technique.

Michael Hailu from contractor Ab-Ham said: “We found the system very quick and simply to install, which saved significant time on site and we will definitely consider the product on future projects.”

The pipework system has been designed to cater for chilled and boosted cold water applications within building service projects, Durapipe SuperFLO ABS offers a reliable and cost-effective solution. Its durable material sees the pipework remain ductile in temperatures down to -40°C, while its limescale and corrosion resistant properties significantly reduce maintenance requirements. With its lightweight nature and easy solvent weld jointing technique labour time and cost, Durapipe SuperFLO ABS offers a superior alternative to steel options.
