Contractor survey from NARM gives insight into rooflight installation

  • 29 Jan 2018

NARM, the National Association of Rooflight Manufacturers, has conducted a survey amongst contractors, as part of its commitment to engaging with rooflight specifiers and installers.

The association hopes the survey will encourage best practice and educate on the advantages that natural daylight offers the built environment.

The results that have come out will inform NARM communications with contractors in both the near and distant future.

One interesting point was that the contractors who reported issues with rooflight installation issues at some time had ALL confirmed these were properly resolved by the NARM member companies that supplied the rooflights.

Also revealed was that  the most frequently downloaded Technical Documents from the NARM website amongst contractors were those relating to non-fragility of rooflights and the differences between ‘walk-on’ specification rooflights (to floor loadings) and those carrying a ‘non-fragile’ classification.

The survey featured a prize draw for a video drone, with the winner of the draw already being notified; of which details will soon be released.

NARM member companies are subject to membership criteria including compliance with appropriate UK Building Regulations, which can be found on the company’s supplier page on the Buidingtalk website – http://www.buildingtalk.com/supplier/national-association-of-rooflight-manufacturers-narm/

NARM’s website, which can be found on the link in the first line, is a comprehensive source of information for specifiers and installers of rooflights, including a full library of technical documents available for free download.
