Just how safe are radiator covers? Contour radiator covers have been designed specifically to eliminate the risks of regular radiators, intending to improve safety rather than add risk.
Whether it’s high-temperature risks or ligature risks that you need to address, Contour can provide ideal radiator casings for you.
Exposed radiators can run the risk of children burning themselves, or risks of ligature. But with Contour’s LST and anti-ligature radiator casings, you can protect your service users from these dangers.
Safe radiator covers are a must in the heating market. Contour design radiator covers for healthcare and education environments to maximise the wellbeing of service users.
LST radiators are particularly ideal for schools and hospitals, where children and patients could be at risk of burning themselves. Meanwhile, our anti-ligature radiators are designed for mental health institutions and security facilities; these are intended to eliminate any risk of deliberate harm.
Contour’s LST range provides safe heating options, including floor-standing and wall-mounted options, as well as pre-fabricated cut-outs for vinyl flooring, skirting boards and pipework.
All Contour LST radiator covers are designed with safe radius corners to prevent injuries in cases of falls or accidents.
Our slimline designs minimise loss of floor space in high-traffic corridors, classrooms, wards and offices.
Contour’s anti-ligature radiator covers are designed with grilles that eliminate ligature risks with 2mm holes at 4mm centres, set in a triangular formation. The grilles exceed the requirements of the BS IP3x test, which you can read about here.
For added security, Contour also offers anti-ligature TRV shrouds and anti-ligature base plates.
For further safety, all Contour radiator covers are coated with BioCote® anti-microbial technology to inhibit the growth of up to 99.9% of bacteria, with the aim of reducing cross-contamination of microbes, such as MRSA in hospitals, and H1N1 Influenza virus, Salmonella and Streptococcus faecalis in schools.
