ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions UK & Ireland is sponsoring this year’s prestigious Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI) Education Awards, which recognises individual education achievements within the door hardware industry.
As the global leader in access solutions, ASSA ABLOY understands the vital importance of the GAI Education Awards in celebrating the work of both individuals and the industry as a whole.
The GAI’s education programme is recognised in the UK and many parts of the globe as the only qualification that enables attendees to qualify in ironmongery specification.
As a result, the GAI’s focus on education is instrumental in maintaining high standards within the industry and ensuring its members provide the correct specification, in both security and life safety situations.
This year’s GAI Education Awards will take place at The Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, on Thursday 7 November.
The event is also co-sponsored by a number of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions UK & Ireland brands, including Lorient, designer and manufacturer of architectural door seals, and leading door hardware brands Excel and Exidor.
Eryl Jones, MD of the ASSA ABLOY Door Hardware & Access Control Group, commented: “We are delighted to support the GAI Education Awards and celebrate the achievements of those individuals who excel in hardware specification.
“ASSA ABLOY places great importance on the education and training of our staff, with many of the team having completed the GAI education programme over the years.
“Today’s facility owners face unique challenges in protecting their occupants, employees, data and property – both intellectual and physical.
“These challenges include ensuring life safety within the built environment, providing safe and secure door opening solutions, and allowing the egress of people in an emergency, while offering the most secure solutions to contain fire.
“Only by educating the industry can we ensure we meet these challenges, and through the GAI education platform we are able to achieve this.”
