Just a year after starting, Boss Building Plastics, the fast-growing building materials supplier, is already moving to a larger site in Lancashire and is soaring with Kestrel…
Director of Boss Building Plastics, Rob Cooke, explained that the new site in Mawdsley, Ormskirk is their ‘ideal location’.
“We knew the Mawdsley site is where we wanted to be couldn’t get into it a year ago, so we initially moved into Rochdale. However, we have been lucky as despite moving 32 miles our customers have come with us,” he comments.
As a new business, Rob explained the importance of being able to ensure stock is available for their customers and delivered on time, which was a challenge in the early months.
He continues: “We are establishing the business and building our relationship with customers, so it’s important to ensure that we can provide the stock and service they need.
“This was a particular struggle initially as supplies have been in short supply across the industry over the last year, but Kestrel has consistently delivered for us.”
Fascia, cladding and roofline brand, Kestrel, initially impressed as regional sales director John Gunn visited Boss Building Plastics when Rob and his partner Zara were in the process of choosing suppliers.
Rob says: “John came across as someone who was not only knowledgeable but was genuinely interested in helping a new business like ours.
“I’ve been in the industry for a number of years and Kestrel has a great reputation for quality, but we’ve also found the customer service to be excellent, deliveries are on time and there’s always someone to speak to when we need them.”
With a stock range that includes fascia, cladding, guttering, windows, doors, rooflights and drainage, looking to the future, now it has the perfect site, Boss Building Plastics is already adding a new warehouse to expand its ability to hold stock and plans eventually to become a full-service general builder’s merchant.
Owen Thorogood, Kestrel sales and marketing director (pictured below), comments: “It’s fantastic to see the hard work pay off for Rob and Zara, who have lived up to their business name and truly bossed their first year in business! Now they have the perfect site, we look forward to seeing their business soar.”
