Cost-effective deck boards provide slip-resistance for golf club

With their smooth surfaces, JB CitiDeck deck boards provide slip-resistance without creating any trip hazards

The Landscape Group recently carried out a renovation of Queen’s Park Golf Club on behalf of Bournemouth City Council.

As part of the refurbishment, the Club’s decked area was re-worked.

Located in front of its restaurant, the decked area also forms part of the Club’s popular children’s play area.

Over hung by trees, the space required smooth deck boards that were easier to clean and less likely to collect food or leaf debris than grooved boards.

As well as being aesthetically pleasing, it was also essential that the chosen boards were able to provide a high level of slip resistance for the children’s safety.

The originally specified composite deck boards proved too expensive for installation; JB CitiDeck was selected as a cost-effective alternative.

Originally developed for the London 2012 Olympics, JB CitiDeck deck boards have an anti-slip aggregate to reduce the risk of trips and falls.

With a finer grit and smoother surface than most anti-slip boards, the decking is more comfortable for wheelchair users and suitably safer for use in children’s play areas.

Designed to be durable, the boards are guaranteed against insect attack or rot for 25 years.
