Crown Paints has donated paint and sundries to the first Bell Decorating Hubb, helping students to transform a wing of The Link School in Sunderland into a learning area.
The Hubb offers a space for learners at the school to feel inspired to develop new skills, as well as giving them an insight into the decorating industry – to encourage learners to consider a future career as a painter and decorator.
Bell Decorating Hubb workshops are designed to be interactive through the use of practical, engaging tasks in partnership with various members of Bell’s supply chain, including Crown Paints.
As well as providing materials for the transformation of the previously derelict wing of the school, Crown Paints will be providing regular workshops to the school’s learners every year.
These interactive workshops will see the learners working to complete a task book and eventually receive a Certificate of Completion, which they’ll be able to include in applications for apprenticeships and college courses as proof of previous learning.
Bell Group’s Chief Executive, Craig Bell, comments on the launch of the Bell Decorating Hubb: “This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with the school to open up opportunities to learners. As a business we feel a strong responsibility to drive progress in the industry and continue to develop new concepts that promote construction as a viable employment route for everyone. Thank you to Crown Paints for its valued support – the generous donation of materials has helped us to launch our very first Hubb.”
Crown Paints’ national sales development manager, Michael Anderson, adds: “Crown Paints has a longstanding relationship with Bell Group and we were delighted to have contributed paint and sundries for the first Bell Decorating Hubb. This is an innovative concept which we’re confident will drive progress in the industry and help more young people see it as a fantastic career choice. We’re passionate about encouraging the next generation to consider a career in painting and decorating, and we look forward to hosting workshops with Bell at the Hubb in future.”
