Innovative window manufacturer Euramax Solutions was among the cutting-edge companies invited to speak at the Smart Factory Expo 2021.
For its sixth year, the event drew thousands of professionals from across British manufacturing to Liverpool.
Visitors got valuable insight into the latest developments in smart infrastructure, automation and robotics, connectivity, artificial intelligence and more.
They could also enjoy a variety of presentations on these topics – including one from Euramax IT Manager John Calderon. He explored how the fast-growing firm is using tech to transform how it manages its operations.
John comments: “Euramax is already an outstanding manufacturing business, making tens of thousands of windows every year for major clients across the modular, builders merchant and holiday home sectors.
“But a big part of that success is our commitment to constant improvement. In many ways, we’re cutting-edge. However, there are still many processes that we do in an old-fashioned, inefficient way.
“That’s why we’re using the power of technology to eliminate pen and paper working from the way we operate.
“With a smart warehouse management system, we’re improving stock accuracy, allowing us to reduce stock levels and increasing our OTIF. We’re issuing staff with handheld smart devices that allow them to check stock much more quickly, and instantly feed that real-time data to the managers that need it.
“It was fantastic to get the opportunity to share some of the changes we’re making with visitors to the Smart Factory Expo, and I hope it gave them some inspiration for how they can do the same in their own businesses.”
