Senior Architectural Systems has been recognised at the 2023 Morgan Sindall Supply Chain Awards, with the aluminium fenestration manufacturer scooping the ‘Innovation’ accolade. This was for its role in delivering specialist product training in collaboration with fellow manufacturers Sika UK and Euroclad Group Ltd.
The three companies have worked together to host Morgan Sindall’s Supply Chain Family Collaboration Day events. Offering practical and technical support to a diverse cross-section of colleagues from across Morgan Sindall’s business divisions, the training sessions aim to promote the holistic design and installation of energy-efficient building envelopes by focusing on the interfaces between aluminium fenestration and cladding systems.
The events have been held regionally, with both Senior and Sika hosting the sessions throughout the year. Further events are planned for 2024.
This national award follows Senior’s success at Morgan Sindall’s North West event, where the team was presented with the regional innovation award. Senior has a long-standing relationship with Morgan Sindall and has worked closely with the contractor to supply its thermally-efficient aluminium doors, windows and curtain wall systems to a number of contracts nationwide, including the recently completed St. Margaret’s Bus Station in Leicester.
Andrew Cooper, Senior’s national specification manager, attended the awards.
“From establishing the training sessions to delivering them, teamwork has been key to making the Morgan Sindall’s Supply Chain Family Collaboration Day events a success and it’s a real honour to have our hard work recognised with this national award,” he says.
“Collaboration really is catalyst for innovation and I’m extremely proud of the team here at Senior and grateful to Morgan Sindall for facilitating this great opportunity and to our supply chain partners Euroclad and Sika.”
As well as celebrating collaboration within the supply chain, Morgan Sindall’s bespoke award scheme also recognises how innovation and problem-solving can benefit the industry. As the UK’s largest privately owned aluminium fenestration systems house, Senior is committed to the research and development of its product range and its forward-thinking ethos is behind the creation of its patented PURe® aluminium door and windows system. Offering Part L compliance and ultra-low U-values, the PURe® window and door system also led to Senior receiving the King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation in April 2023.
