A selection of wood effect vinyl tiles from Polyflor’s Affinity255 PUR collection have been used in the refurbishment of a student-run restaurant at Gateshead College.
Ensfields Kitchen is a valued part of Gateshead College’s Baltic campus. It is run by the college’s hospitality and catering students as part of their training; all food is made and served by them.
Whilst allowing them to gain experience in running a real restaurant, the facility enables the college’s young chefs to showcase their talents.
Floorstyles-Direct was contracted to install Polyfor’s Affinity255 PUR vinyl flooring in the restaurant’s dining area. Specified in the Huckleberry Oak design, the tiles were used to create a contemporary interior for the student-run diner.
Developed for use in heavy commercial environments, the Affinity255 collection benefits from cross linked and UV cured polyurethane reinforcement (PUR). This works to protect the floor, whilst enabling a polish-free cleaning regime in hygiene critical areas.
The range has also been designed with a 2mm gauge to ensure easy installation alongside other flooring products, such as Polyflor’s safety flooring.
Affinity255 has achieved a BRE A+ rating in major use areas and Indoor Air Comfort Gold. Its environmental credentials are reinforced by its recyclability: containing an average of 40% recycled content, the flooring is completely reusable via the Recofloor vinyl take back scheme.
