Anti-bacterial paint coating specified for University of Birmingham

  • 3 Aug 2015

The coating offers the reassurance of the SteriTouch anti-bacterial system, which utilises the silver to limit the growth of potentially harmful bacteria, including Salmonella and E-Coli.

Steracryl is available in a choice of scrubbable matt and durable acrylic eggshell finishes, offering an extensive range of colours to choose from.

The paint was specified to provide protection against bacteria in the student kitchens across Vale Village

It has been developed to offer a highly durable surface, capable of withstanding stringent cleaning programmes and maintaining a clean finish for the long term.

Contemporary finish

At Vale Village, both scrubbable matt and durable acrylic eggshell were selected in a shade of white.

It offers a stylish and durable finish in the communal kitchen areas, which are areas of heavy use. The scrubbable nature of the finish ensures that the kitchens are easier to clean and maintain.

Mould inhibiting paint

The work at Vale Village was carried out by Novus Property Solutions, who praised the coating for delivering high performance and lasting anti-bacterial protection.

As well as the Crown Trade Steracryl Anti Bacterial system, Crown Trade Steracryl Mould Inhibiting paint was also used across the University of Birmingham, for student bathroom and shower areas.

Available in matt and durable acrylic eggshell finishes, the Steracryl Mould Inhibiting paint offers protection in areas subject to mould growth such as kitchens, bathrooms and void properties.

Both paints contain an effective fungicide, specially developed to maintain decorated surfaces by inhibiting the development of mould growth on the paint film.
