Over 200 years old, St Theresa’s Church on Clarendon St, has a beautiful interior featuring intricate designs, ornamental cornices and mouldings.
Blackwood Decorators completed redecorating the entire interior including painting walls, ceilings, woodwork and metal, completed the project a month ahead of schedule.
Johnstone’s Acrylic Eggshell was recommended by Blackwood due to its durability, and the fact that surfaces could be easily washed to remove stains including soot from candles. The quick-drying properties of the product, combined with the fact that the team worked solely at night and used battery operated cherry pickers rather than scaffolding, meant disruption to the church’s busy schedule of day-to-day activities was kept to an absolute minimum.
The impressive project was one of only 20 projects shortlisted for the final of this year’s prestigious Johnstone’s Painter of the Year award out of the hundreds of entries received.
Peter Cullen of Blackwood Decorators: ñI have used Johnstone’s Acrylic Eggshell for years now, particularly on school projects where durability is always key, and would recommend it as it’s a great product to use. We were confident it would be perfect for St Theresa’s and we have had some lovely feedback from the brothers at the church too.î
