Mineral Render PLUS is rainproof within two hours of application

  • 23 Oct 2014

A great deal of construction projects are likely to be delayed or halted due to adverse weather conditions across the country, with the installation of External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems becoming particularly difficult during rain and sleet.

Damp and humid application

Specially designed for use during damp and humid conditions, EpsiCoat relies on a chemical reaction during the curing process, unlike traditional renders such as silicone which is set by air drying.

The render, which is rainproof in two hours and touch dry in just three hours, is less likely to delamination and wash-offs in cold and damp conditions, helping to reduce delays on site and ensuring that projects meet deadlines.

No over staining

EpsiCoat does not require any over staining and is available in eight colours to complement any design scheme for either a new build or refurbishment project, with no discolouration occurring over time due to the manufacturing method.

External renders need to be installed in the right conditions to ensure success; if the weather is too wet, humid or cold, traditional renders take an extended time to dry, leaving them at risk of damage from rain and frost.

Reduce rain delays

EpsiCoat Mineral Render PLUS significantly reduces project delays for installers such as Hamilton Building Contractors Ltd who used the product on a recent project during a heavy rain downpour.

Regional Director, Dean Miller, credits the render product for allowing the project to be completed on time, stating that ‘rain was running down the surface’ within two hours of application during bad weather.
