Brick manufacturer Vandersanden, renowned for its innovation, sustainability and craftsmanship, has been awarded a prestigious 2-star certification under the Brickmakers Quality Charter.
The Brickmakers Quality Charter (BQC) is a credentialling programme run by the Brick Development Association (BDA) to provide the UK construction supply chain with reassurance of the high standards of brick manufacturing processes and ethical practices. The BDA awards certification to clay brick manufacturers through the BQC Scheme.
Keith Aldis, Chief Executive Officer, BDA, comments: “We are delighted that Vandersanden has achieved this award. The BQC is not an easy thing to achieve since it shows real commitment to manufacturing excellence over the longer term.
“Architects, specifiers merchants and buying groups alike are now specifying that clay brick is procured from BQC firms moving forwards and so Vandersanden’s achievement, is both timely and opportune.”
Vandersanden has been awarded the 2-star certification under BQC and is now recognised as a responsible clay brick manufacturer for their high-quality and ethically produced bricks.
The BQC accreditation provides the certainty and longevity people want in their homes and the flexibility businesses seek from an established supply chain.
Any clay brick manufacturer can apply to join the register of BQC holders. However, to be accepted, companies must demonstrate their compliance with and adherence to, a range of internationally recognised standards and provide specific evidence of their credentials.
Darren White, Sales Director from Vandersanden, says: “It’s great to see Vandersanden being recognised for the quality and craftsmanship of our bricks, in the first year that this certification has been introduced.
“We take great pride in the products that we manufacture and the innovative projects which our bricks have helped to create.”
