Recent stats from the BMBI show total builders’ merchant value sales to builders and contractors were up 7.2% in Q2 compared with Q2 2017, helped by one more trading day this year.

The BMBI have said total builders’ merchant value sales to builders and contractors increased 6.9% in May, compared with the same month last year.
Total builders’ merchant value sales to builders and contractors rose by 4.0% in February, compared to the same month twelve months previous (BMBI).
The Builders Merchant Building Index (BMBI) experienced robust growth in 2017. Total Q4 2017 merchant sales to builders and contractors increased by 6.3% on Q4 2016.

BMBI data shows builders merchants’ total value sales saw a 7.3% increase in November 2017 when compared with the same month in the year previous.
October saw total merchant sales to builders and contractors at their highest since GfK began compiling BMBI sales data in July 2014, although the Index has said the effects of inflation cannot be ignored, as many sectors have reported significant price increases over the past year.
BMBI statistics show builders’ merchants enjoyed continued strong sales value growth in the third quarter of 2017.
